We are reaching out to share an important update regarding the underlying database technology for your Silverstripe Cloud (SC) platform.
What is happening?
MySQL8.0 will become End-of-support in July 31, 2026. After this date onwards, MySQL 8.0 will no longer be available on Silverstripe Cloud Platform for new environments. Environments using MySQL 8.0 will also be scheduled for upgrade to MySQL 8.4.
What are we doing?
As always, the security and stability of your platform is our top priority. The Silverstripe team is hard at work engineering and testing support for MySQL 8.4 version within the SC environment.
Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition that maintains the performance and integrity of your applications.
What do you need to do?
No immediate action is required from your side. We are currently in the engineering and testing phase. Once we have a fully validated and supported version ready for your platform, we will contact you again with:
- A detailed upgrade timeline.
- Technical specifications for the new version.
- Any necessary steps for your development team to ensure compatibility.
