As communicated earlier, scheduled maintenance was planned for tonight to carry out the GitLab upgrade.
However, due to critical security considerations that require more immediate attention, we have made the decision to bring the upgrade forward and proceed with the change as an emergency change from 3.30PM to 6.30PM NZST, 14 Sep 2026.
Impact: During this maintenance window, Deployments and GitLab console will be unavailable. We are taking every measure to minimise disruption during the GitLab upgrade.
Your websites and web applications will not be affected and will remain available throughout the maintenance window.
Recommended actions for you:
- Complete any required deployments or infrastructure changes as soon as possible.
- Share this message with other members of your team who need to be aware of the maintenance.
We sincerely apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience or disruption this may cause. While we recognise that this is outside the originally communicated maintenance window, addressing the identified security concerns promptly is considered necessary to minimise potential risk to the environment.

As GitLab continues to release new versions of bug fixes, security fixes and adding new features, we are committed to staying current with best practices and making the necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless experience for our users.
The Silverstripe Cloud Deployment functionality relies on GitLab for all type of deployments to all environments. We have selected the following window to limit interference with your deployment activities. During this window, you may not be able to access Gitlab or run deployments.
Deployment Schedule: The GitLab application upgrade for all environments will take place on Sep 14, 2026 from 7PM to 10PM NZST.
Change timeline: Please note this change is being made under our emergency change process and we are advising you with as much notice as possible.
